Mick Fleetwood tells in his autobiography that Peter Green "decided to record Fleetwood Mac's third Single, Little Willie John's 'Need Your Love So Bad', after John Mayall played him B.B. King's lush rendition of the song."
I can't find B.B. King's version of Little Willie John's 'Need Your Love So Bad' on any of his records before 1968.
It seems to me that B.B. King recorded Little Willie John's 'Need Your Love So Bad' the first time on April 22 & 23, 2005. His duet with Sheryl Crow was released on his record "B.B. King & Friends 80" in 2005.
But B.B. King's use of a string section for "The Thrill Is Gone" (1969) may be inspired of the Greenies 'Need Your Love So Bad'-string section.
Is there anybody who knows
- when B.B. King's has recorded his cover of Little Willie John's 'Need Your Love So Bad' before 1968?
- and on which of B.B. King's records or VHSs or DVDs his version was issued before 1968?
Thanks
