I agree with the second part of this exactly. and sadly, for many of the concert attendees, any of those listed options would still draw them in. I doubt if many of the casual fans could even identify John in a lineup or could articulate that he's the "Mac" in the band's name.
But Mick would do it in a heartbeat, which means your first statement won't matter to anyone but the true blue fans.
