I've made that case many times—mostly to myself—and would continue to do so. But I agree with these three albums being more-or-less her essentials (although I love parts of
In Your Dreams). They're certainly the three albums where Stevie's mystique was most assured and polished. They're the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame albums of her catalog. Let's hope she has another one at this level down the line to bookend her career, although between her advancing age and her resistance to recording full albums, the prospects aren't looking too good.
