Default It seems to me...

And why should anyone care what my vote would be? That's just me, but I'm pretty sure a bunch of other people on this board have similar feelings.

Now if those polls generated much useful discussion, that would be beneficial, but there's been little or no discussion - probably because there's not that much interest in the polls. I've checked in on a few of the poll-related discussions and found very little of interest to me. There are not that many albums and songs from this period and most of them - good and bad - have already been discussed on the board here, in many cases more than once. So unless you're bringing something new to the discussion - and I don't think "favorite" or "least favorite" polls on their own particularly encourage new angles of looking at the songs - it's mostly just rehashing the same old things.

I'm all for seeing more traffic on this forum if there's anything of substance to it, but putting up polls and such just for the sake of adding more threads to the board doesn't help in that regard. We do see some very interesting posts now and then - I think wetcamelfood's post about "Man Of The World" is quite intriguing and I'd love to see some responses from people who were around at that time. But I think it's just the nature of this particular board - and of many of the people who participate in it - that it will always have way fewer posts than many of the others. And that's fine with me. Again, just my opinion, YMMV.

As David Byrne said:
"You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything.
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.
Say something once, why say it again?"
... that the number of actual replies or responses to them tells the tale. Especially the 'least fave' etc. type of polls.
