Did you know there is a musician whose name is Lindsay Mac and it's a SHE? She is an indie singer/songwriter who plays the cello as if it were a guitar. Quite unusual (and very good).
But I can't think of her without thinking of Fleetwood Mac ... for obvious reasons! LOL
As for the Lindsey/Stevie name gender confusion, when my dorm mate in college first brought home the White Album, we were really impressed with the new chick guitarist who had joined the band! I specifically remember my dorm mate commenting, "what's with this Stevie guy? All he does is sing a couple of songs." Our misunderstanding wasn't corrected until we saw them in concert! Then I remember we looked at each other and said "oh ... Lindsey is the GUY!"
That sort of thing doesn't happen any more in this internet/Youtube age.
