I must admit, I'm kinda envious as I haven't seen DM live yet. I wish Dave would play up in MA (or at least in New England somewhere) but it seems the closest he'll come is NJ/NY and I might be able to scrape enough money togther to go see him in CT or whatever but NY/NJ is too far for me, moneywise.
It's been said on the message board on his site
www.dave-mason.com that he doesn't play Boston anymore because the turn out isn't that great but I understand that the last time he played around here was in 1997 at Harper's Ferry but I heard there was only like two seconds notice for this gig as it was added at the last second so I hope these facts are taken in to consideration when the thought comes up in his camp about booking gigs in NE (I heard he was playing with Gary Wright (of "Dream weaver" fame, Spooky Tooth, etc.) at the Mohegan Sun casino in CT in Sept. last year but once again with short notice and I heard it was going to be televised so I figured I'd tape it but it never was aired (in my area to my knowledge anyways, any one got a copy?) and I heard from those that did go that he was just backing up GW on some of his songs ("Love is alive" etc.) as it was just a short set).
Well at least if he's playing down your way, hopefully this will mean he'll consider other areas that he hasn't played in for a while, I'm hoping so anyways!
