I play that part with my index finger stretched out (and all other fingers closed), kinda in a flamenco rhythm guitarist way. I find it sounds much clearer (and easier!) than the "whole hand moving up and down / full on all-fingers-slapping-strings" way that Lindsey tends to do at the end of both Big Love and Go Insane.
