Exactly. They're just numbers- numbers that can be easily manipulated and ultimately don't mean much of anything.
All that really, truly matters is the hard bottom-line for the band, promoters, and venues (which are confidential)... and the North America Unleashed dates were wholly underwhelming. If they were a huge success (or anything even close to on par with the '03 SYW dates), they'd be headlining sheds next summer. Instead, they're in negotiations to be, for all intents and purposes, a glorified opening act for Eagles next summer... because that's the only way they'd be able to get work next summer at a fee anywhere close to what they've been accustomed to/find acceptable. 2010 Baby!!
