From what I understand, a DVD player is only concerned about region code, so an NTSC or PAL disc should play. A DVD recorder also has a TV tuner that will be either NTSC or PAL, but should not affect playback. Now here comes the crunch; the TV (or monitor) is where the ability to view comes in. Most UK TVs can play back both NTSC (no surround sound though) and PAL, but TVs in the USA are invariably only capable of NTSC playback.... therefore a PAL dvd will probably have to be viewed on your computer.

As for the Peter Green DVD, mine is region 0 PAL. I first ordered it from Amazon on 29th May, but eventually got an email from them saying it would not ship until end August. I canceled it, and re-ordered it from one of Amazons market place zshops (The Book Depository) who claimed it was in stock. It arrived the next day, 22nd June, so shop around if there is a long lead time.
