Why would she give that up? She doesn't need the money and she is running out of time. Doing a Fleetwood Mac album means doing another tour and putting off more solo work. She is tired of dropping everything for Fleetwood Mac.

She likes making albums with Dave and Waddy.
But these days, all she does is moan (okay, its not quite all she does) about making albums because nobody wants to buy them. At least with a band she only needs to give up a small number of songs rather than invest her emotional commitment to a whole album's worth of material. In terms of sales, surely she knows slightly more people will be interested in new Fleetwood Mac music than new Stevie Nicks music.
