1) Lindsey has taken 'Pattern picking' to another level and pretty much invented a whole new way to play the guitar. Not sure there are many guitarists that can make a claim to being truly innovative.

2) Lindsey has created some of the all-time most recognisable and iconic rock guitar passages.

3) Lindsey is diverse in the music he makes.

3) Lindsey has genuinely influenced loads and loads of musicians. There are so many youngsters discovering his music and being influenced to play guitar like him.

4) Lindsey plays I'm So Afraid like a badass live.

Should 100% be in the top 50, could quite easily make a case for top 20 and he wouldn't really be out of place in the top 10.
Despite FM's surge in the general cultural consciousness over the past 10 years or so, appreciation for LB's guitar playing hasn't significantly grown at the same time. As much as I hate to talk about death I suspect he might only become properly recognised some years after his passing. A real shame.
