Finally got a chance to do a serious listen to this late tonight.
As with all my new vinyl I look at it carefully using a bright
lamp to see if there are any imperfections in the vinyl. I saw
no scratches or scuffs.
As I'm listening to side one, I'm impressed. The vinyl
is quiet. Much more so than many of my "new" records.
I didn't compare it to my original copy as I have not cleaned
it yet. But I did like the sound I heard.
Then side two...
PROBLEM
Happy with my new vinyl copy until
Leather and Lace.
Some odd distorted crackling through much of the song.
As I listened to the rest of the album I didn't notice any
other problems of that sort. My hopes of a perfect album
came crumbling down. Again with the lamp test, and still
I couldn't see any marks on the vinyl.
Curious to whether any of you have the same problem on
side two?.
