Stevie Nicks and Chrissie Hynde team up at Mohegan Sun

This alone is worth the price of admission: In concerts on Stevie Nicks' current tour that comes to Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, Nicks sings "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around." No surprise there; it was a big hit. But here's the fun part: the person singing the Tom Petty part? Concert opening act Chrissie Hynde.
Well, technically, The Pretenders are the opening act, but The Pretenders have been pretty much Hynde for years.
In any case, this concert is a celebration of 1980s rock goddesses, with Nicks the ethereal enchantress and Hynde the leather-clad riot grrrrl.
Pegging them just to the 1980s, though, is a mistake. They both have continued to produce vital, oft-acclaimed music. Nicks, now 68, saw her latest album, "24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault," debut at #7 on the Billboard charts. Hynde, 65, likewise scored big with her new album, "Alone," produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
Stevie Nicks, 7 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with The Pretenders; $69, $89; 1-800-745-3000.
