This sounds like what they did with the '88 Greatest hits album with As Long As You Follow and No Questions Asked as the new songs. Also done again, bigger, in '92 with Paper Doll, Love Shines, etc on
The Chain.
They could release a two-discs set of rare demo/live/alternate versions of the songs and tour behind that.
