1. Saw Lindsey in Ithaca the night after Bob Welch’s suicide. It was a great show and at the end, my friend and I just walked right up to the stage. As Lindsey was leaving he saw my hand extended, turned and gripped it. I squeezed and he squeezed back.

2. Having a Q&A exchange with Bob Weston (where I got to tell him I thought he was handsome) and two Q&A exchanges with Bob Welch. Those old Penguin Q&As were excellent.

3. My Bare Trees and Mystery songbooks. Love working through them on the piano.

4. Watching Stevie sing “Silver Springs” on the televised Dance special. I, like everyone else in the audience, spontaneously stood up and cheered when it was done....it, to me, was a triumphant moment beyond anything I had been expecting.

5. First hearing Out of the Cradle and In the Meantime respectively. Both of these solo projects featured the artists at their best and featured songs of such high quality that validated their status as musicians, singers, and writers.
