Now if you tell me he's doing it for the money, then I totally get it, and I don't doubt that's one of the reasons he wants to be back.

The fame, I think. Even though $tevie is the epitome of being fame needy, I think everyone likes being in a hugely popular band that sells out many venues.
By myself, I can move 1500 tickets, but with FM, 20,000! I'd think 95% of artists would prefer the latter.
