Same thing goes for the actual concerts. Some parts are taped, which helps it sound more like the record, but TOTALLY kills the live experience (at least for me). Not only do I not care if it sounds just like the record, I don't expect or want it to. I like knowing that what I'm hearing is what is actually being played AND is the ONLY thing being played.

I've been on a big Richard Thompson kick lately, and his solo acoustic versions of "Dimming Of The Day" and "Who Knows Where The Time Goes", and even "I Feel So Good" just destroy me. Screw sounding just like the record. If I wanted to hear the record, I would've stayed home.
