I have a Rumours GYOW rehearsal mp3, where they play for a bit, then discuss what to work on. She clearly says(to Richard, I assume), to keep the organ very low in the mix during the verses. She's only holding chords, because she doesn't want to stand there and do nothing. So it was sort of a prop there.
