Question Not sure I am Charlie?

Maybe I'm just too middle of the road or something but I felt kind of manipulated (having been a cartoonist) too join in all of the Je Suis Charlie show of support. But if published a lot of deliberately rude cartoons while there's no way I'd say they deserve a death penalty I'm thinking to keep doing that, intended to offend or irritate... well... why? Did the cartoons really make people think or were they boiling things down to an 'evil incarnate' status which sadly has become a style of the times with some recently.

Honestly, I really don't want anything to do with some 'cultures' and kind of blame governments for becoming involved. If it were up to me I'd have put a quarantine around various lawless countries despite any good their culture may also have... but a culture of poking a stick into a group of people's eye over and over? That isn't mine either. The yelling fire in a crowded theater restriction applies I feel. In the '20s and '30s Europe there were cartoons showing certain ethnicities in an exaggerated light and we know where that simplistic junk led.

Am I an apologist when I say that I was proud when the western world stepped into Kosovo as Muslims were being executed at prayer? I think peace-keeping is where my country Canada can best contribute and I find out current PM much too much of a loudmouth show-off pointing at 'evil incarnate'. No thanks to the escalating bs all around whether it's blaming 'feminosities in love with the foreign Obama' all over u.s. radio or banning transpeople in Russia from having driver's licenses. What the? And get out and vote for the least fanatical while you still can to balance things out from the exaggerators trying to manipulate, no matter how hard difficult it's made.

Je suis non-hyper-reactive?
