70's folks! Aside from some of my favorite bands getting started (Van Halen, Iron Maiden, etc.), others in their heyday (Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, etc.), and even some making their best material (The Who, among others I can't quite think of right now lol), it was a great decade.
A runner-up would be the 80's. Great metal (thrash metal, New Wave of British Heavy Metal, even some hair metal) and you gotta love the pop from then too.
