9 times out of 10, I prefer the finished product over the demo, but I really do enjoy hearing a song in its infancy.
Kind of like finding the rough draft of a novel that you love. You can see what ideas the writer was exploring... which ones were expanded upon, and which were ultimately thrown out.
Sometimes you even find yourself thinking, "I really wish they had left that part in."
For me, at least, it gives me more of an appreciation for the writing and recording process.
I do, however, understand the mindset of those who prefer a song to be completely finished the first time they hear it.
It's all good.
