I don't read anything into LB not opening his mouth at that event. It was probably in the middle of a series of songs the chorus prepared and he exited quietly to keep the program flowing. This was about the high school graduates, not LB and he graciously got out of the way as soon as his bit was over. It seems clear he's coming to sit down next to Kristen to watch the rest of it.
(I realize he IS seeing a vocal specialist and therefore is having voice issues, but I would not expect him to speak in that particular clip either way.)
