Absolutely, this could have been handled so much better. If they had any respect for fans they could have been more honest and basically summed it up as creative differences.
Despite being the instigator of this, SN then makes up a pathetic story so she doesn't look like the cruel nasty cow to her devoted fans, but then the truth comes out and she ends up looking far worse and loses thousands more fans as a result. Karma's a bitch.
