Unless the R&RHOF counts sub-genres of rock as well I don't see how some bands & artists have gotten in over the years. Last I checked LL Cool J wasn't rock, he's hip hop isn't he? Another hip hop/rap group that's in the R&RHOF is Run DMC but they did infuse rock into their music so I can understand that.
As much as I love Donna Summer she isn't exactly rock either with the majority of her music being disco/pop oriented. Still, I'm glad to see her nominated anyways.
