You may have noticed a new advertiser on Obsessee's sidebar, the fabulous vintage ebay store, Sisters of the Black Moon! Sisters of the Black Moon have become quite renowned in the last little while, and serve up some of the greatest and most unique pieces on their online vintage ebay boutique. I decided to ask the lovely ladies, Sara, Rachel, and Alecia a few questions about their store!

How did you three ladies meet?
we all met in austin through mutual friends. it was a magical friendship from the start!

What made you decide to start Sisters of the Black Moon?

The 3 of us had worked in vintage clothing (modeling & sales) for quite some time. We collectively wanted to have our own store at some point, it was a dream in the making. Luckily, the stars aligned and the timinig was right for the 3 of us to start our business journey together. We were more than ready and soon gave birth to our moonchild, Sisters of the Black Moon.

Where did the name originate from?
We were all on a road trip to this little vintage store in the middle of nowhere on the side of I-35 between Austin and Dallas called the Style Station. We were talking about all sorts of things and started to talk about opening our own online vintage store (something we had discussed before but had yet to make that dream a reality). Fleetwood Mac was playing on the ipod, the song Sisters of the Moon came up in discussion, we played around with that as a name for a bit but we were seeking a name that was a little bit more dark and mysterious ... one thing led to another and voila, the name Sisters of the Black Moon was created!

Where do you find the vintage treasures you sell?
We get our clothes from all over. A little bit here and a little bit there. Right now, Rachel and Alecia live in Austin while Sara just relocated to Sweden. We are currently thrifting bi-continentally to find the most epic pieces for our shoppers.

What are your favorite fall trends?
Oh where to begin!? Deep hues, embellishment, layering and the maxi are all musts. A feminine floating dress with a masculine structured jacket. Leather and lace. Southwestern prints and heavy knits. Over the knee lace up boots. Heavy tribal/ethnic jewelry (loving Pamela Loves new line).

Check out some of their favorite vintage pieces in their store currently, as well as pieces hand made Heyoka Leather for the Sisters' new "Lucky 13" line!

Thanks so much to Rachel, Alecia, and Sara!

Be sure to check these lovely ladies out at Sistersoftheblackmoon.com, where you can find their ebay store, and various lovely tumblrs full of everyday inspiration.
