I didn't know of that.
But it does remind me of a Tom Petty interview in which he talked about one of the first times he met Fleetwood Mac and Christine asked him to tell Stevie something on her behalf (and on behalf of the band) because he was much more in confidence with Stevie than Christine and the other band members, and he seemed negatively surprised.
