There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that as the limit to her talent- it is no small feat. Maybe I want to believe in Stevie's musicianship more than I should because I find myself in a very similar position she may have been in during the late 1960's and early 1970's...
I'm churning out lyrics and basic chords on piano (occasionally on guitar) and having to pay $$$ for decent production of these songs, all to the amazing achievement of 1000 views on YouTube of my most popular song. (Yes, I was pretty happy about that actually.)
I'm still waiting for My Mother's Rings and City of Hope to see the light of day. At this point the best I can hope for is that they make a posthumous release.
