Hold Me is one of those songs that the first time you hear it, you know its a big hit. It does not need to grow on you. Its the perfect pop song yet not a simple pop song. There are so many intricate layers that make it so good. The piano beginning, the catchy lyrics, the percussion, and the catchy chorus.
I remember Christine stating the song came together so fast and the lyrics just flowed. The song is complicated to do live and needs Lindsey. However Chris's solo live version is still the best live rendition of the song ever. YES, IMHO its even better than the Buck/Vie version with Lindsey on lyrics and the piped in backing vocals. Chris's band really nailed it and made it look easy without piping in backing vocals.
