I realize that those are 1980 prices....but really, even if you adjust for inflation, the prices today shouldn't be more than $50--which in itself would be more than a 200% increase. Instead, we have tickets in the $130 to $150 range, which is, if I'm doing the math correctly, more than a 700% increase from the highest price on that list. From what I understand, we can thank Clear Channel's stranglehold on the industry for the current state of affairs. There's an interesting piece about them posted to the Elton John thread in the Chit Chat forum. Don't we have antitrust laws for this sort of thing????
