Although, he did leave the band for about nine months to a year. If he hadn't, Dave Mason would probably have never been asked to join.
I think if Mick hadn't jumped the gun on hiring Bekka and just waited for Lindsey's tour to end, they could've gotten Lindsey back in late 1993 and made an album as a quartet, while touring as an augmented trio.
