I don't get the opening verse to this song at all.
I mean who opens a song with the line "
Dead on the ground"??
And how does this lyric tie in to where the rest of the song goes??
He opens by saying he's dead on the ground moaning, and he's too proud to die ......soooo....... he'll take Stevie's hand, and get on with show instead??
The second verse is pretty literal and clearly about the state of the band, and someday they'll all be on the same page and want the same thing (a final album together??) before time runs out.
Waiting too long
But there's no right or wrong
Only where I belong
Where I belong
There'll come a day
When we all feel the same
And we live for the game
Live for the game
But that opening verse is so grim and.... odd.
