HONOLULU -- Music swelled over the great lawn at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Sunday afternoon as legendary musicians and entertainers shared their talents to raise money for Kokua for Japan.

“They are some of the best. I think it’s just wonderful we are very thrilled to be able to attend,” said Canadian visitor Jim Wales.

Thousands came to Waikiki to sing and dance to the sounds of Cecilio and Kapono, as millions more watched at home and over the Internet.

Jack Johnson, Michael McDonald, Willie Nelson, Mick Fleetwood and dozens of local entertainers such as Jake Shimabukuro and Amy Hanaialii joined a long line up of entertainers.

“It’s a fabulous turn out. We've had so many people show up today to support the people of Japan,” Kahealani Doss, from Honolulu.
