Yes, that's definitely a downside. You know, you never know who's going to be nice, either. I've worked shows where I was on edge, the entire soundcheck/show, just because the artist was an ass. Then there are some who just make your day(Conor Oberst comes to mind....he gave me a hug, and would come up and put his arm around my shoulder, anytime he wanted a change in his monitor mix).
If people only knew......when an artist acts like Conor, I will bend over backwards for them, doing things that aren't even part of my job, just because they're NICE. When an artist is a prick, I will do nothing outside my job for them.

Unfortunately, people like JC Mellenhead, and Steve Earle, don't CARE if people like them. Because they're assholes.

I've actually heard from a few people that Conor is an asshole, I like your version better though
