my aunt is a nurse and she says the same thing. it's a very rewarding job, even if it's terribly sad sometimes too. I can remember going to lunch with several of her elderly patients (she's a home-health nursing supervisor) that she had formed close bonds with...they were always so grateful and nice and welcoming.
