Also, I also LOVED Taxi Driver (

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106226/...c=1;ft=20;fm=1 ) - in which he semingly effortlessly captured the beauty of that era while also humorously and tragically noting the ugly things like the hypocrisy of that era as well. I also think "Gangs of New York," (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0217505/...c=1;ft=21;fm=1 )while not my fav. film, also seemingly effortless portrayed this same thing.
So, I think MS will win for his body of work - while not really fair, it happens
Finally, he ususally has Mt Rushmore for a cast doesn't he
AND he brings out the best in ALL of them IMO
