I think the first Mac issue I ever bought was the 1988 Greatest Hits. I swear that I had never even heard Rhiannon before so to say I was blown away by that when the first track sputtered out of my tape deck was an understatement. Tbh, I'm not even sure that Christine is on the "Rhi-aaaa-non" part of the chorus, but I felt she had to be.
It's weird how compartively few times it is that we got the three voices all at the same time. It's like they were wheeled out as a special treat or as some form of catharsis to crown the song. That we never got a studio rerecording of "Why"" with Stevie and Lindsey is a shame, but oh, that Midnight Special performance of it is something else.
