Your description of the male singer was spot on, but I understand no guy in her band is going to sing any of her duets well, so my expectations are automatically lower. Maybe I should have said Stevie sounded fantastic on the song. I recall Waddy singing Stop Dragging My Heart in the past and while it might not have been cringeworthy, it sure wasn’t good.

Waddy cant sing for sure. As much as I love Chrissie Hynde, I did not care for her on SDMHA. In some ways Waddy was so bad it was cool that it gave the song a raw edge. I also did not care for Stevie's vocal coach singing Leather and Lace. Just too polished for my tastes. But no doubt he could sing.
Believe it or not I think Billy Joel could get into SDMHA and Leather and Lace.
