I like the sound but that lyric — that’s a really incoherent lyric: bits of phrases with marginal reference to something-or-other that may or may not have been politically relevant at some point all thrown into a blender. That’s not lyric writing, it’s verbatim transcription from a diary. It’s Stevie Salad. It’s copy-pasta. I do wish Stevie would build songs out of her musings and put some serious work into it, the way she once did (
Dreams,
Landslide,
Gold Dust Woman,
Crystal,
Crying in the Night).
