I'm a little bit more optimistic. This is obviously a recent interview as she's speaking from London and it does mention they are more than half way through the tour. I don't know why the journalist would combine direct quotes from a recent interview with one single line from an old interview.
Also, where she says...
'And we're planning on trying to have an album finished by early next year, and releasing it in the spring'.
...I don't recall them ever explicitly suggest they'd have an album out
this spring. This makes me think it was a direct quote of something she said recently.
