I want Lindsey to produce Fleetwood Mac too. Dave should only produce Stevie's solo stuff. That being said, It's pretty clear that she has probably been working with Dave off and on since IYD. She is only doing the FM record because of Chris.
I do think that at this stage of the game Nicks can do what she wants to do. She doesn't need the money. She knows the album won't sale. If it makes it costs back she would probably be happy. This record is about the joy of making a record. She is trying to recreate the making of IYD. Have that good experience again.
Who knows. She might have a surprise in store for her. Maybe she will enjoy the process since everyone is together again. Maybe she will come up with some magic.
