Default There's an App for that: Swell

[not about Lindsey, but an interview of his is mentioned in this app review & it might be a good way to search for audio information about the band on a regular basis]

Talking Tech

LOS ANGELES — We've all fallen for online radio services like Pandora, iHeartRadio and Slacker, since they've taken the pain out discovering music — just type in who we like, and these stations serve them up.

So how about a swell app that focuses just on spoken word — news and information, talk and podcasting?

The app — Swell — just started up this summer and is a great companion for walks, bike rides or long drives. It's available now only on the Apple platform, but the developer hopes to have an Android version by the end of the year.
Swell is great, because, like Pandora, you don't have to make decisions about what to listen to. Swell figures it out for you.

You open the app, and start it off by choosing a topic. Choices include TV & Film, Science, Culture, Music, Technology, Sports, News and Business.
Based on your initial selection, as well as your Facebook and Twitter interests, Swell takes it from there.

My focus is tech news, so Swell gives me a potpourri of NPR, ABC News and other stuff. And I've stumbled onto things I never would have known about — like an hour-long chat with Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham on the making of the Rumours album, jokes from the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the audio version of CBS' 60 Minutes, comedian Sarah Silverman sitting down with Jeff Garlin on his "By the Way" podcast and a cool TED Talk about the science of dating in the digital age.
