Default second hand Christine remembrance

I was just in NYC where I went to a show at The Blue Note with some friends--Percy Jones, the prog rock bassist and founder of Brand X among them. He was born in Liverpool and stayed in England up to the early 70s, so he remembers the music scene in England pretty well. He and I got to talking about some bands and then he hit on John Mayall. We talked about Bluesbreakers and A Hard Road. After a few minutes, without my prompting, he then mentioned he used to tour the same circuits as Christine Perfect.

Percy said what we already know: she was a nice, laid-back, down-to-earth person who didn't put on an airs. He said she was touring with her solo band when he met her. I asked him about the quality of the group. He said they were solid musicians who put on a good show--nothing virtuosic, but good. I told him Christine often said those early dates with that band were "disastrous." He was genuinely surprised. He thought they sounded fine.

I asked him if he ran into her a lot. He said fairly often in that time period.
