Basically, it's what is your opinion on what songs on the poll were NOT hits.
Personally, I base my decision to qualify as a true hit on the following two conditions: 1. if the song was released as a single in either the US or the UK and 2. if the song was in the top 40 on any chart
If neither of those occurred then the song (in my opinion) cannot be called a "hit".
