well, i guess he'd have to set up some boundaries. but it might have been an extremely interesting interview and would definitely be much more off-the-wall than any we normally see with him. so as a fan i'd love to hear that.
as for your other point, agree that's everybody's decision what trade-offs they are willing to make. but -
any publicity is good publicity. look at SN - she had a couple of not-that-great performances (to put it mildly) on mediocre prime-time tv shows but these shows have
huge audiences, and each time her CD immediately re-entered the charts - even though most of the tweets during those performances were negative and sometimes downright nasty.
