Rate the order of the songs from most to least fave...yep, this forum needs some ACTION!!!!!!!! :nod:

2. Trouble (Love the guitar!! And, the a-two, a-three, a-foah!!)

Oooh, I love this album as much as I love OOTC... maybe more these days. It's just so much fun to listen to.

1 - Shadow Of The West... one of my favorite Lindsey songs of all time.
2 - Johnny Stew... turns me into a giggling idiot.
3 - Bwana... I totally agree about the kazoo. ;)
4 - Trouble... a very sexy song.
5 - It Was I... cute!
6 - Satisfied Mind... like a good ol' country song.
7 - September Song... reminds me of a black and white movie for some reason.
8 - Mary Lee Jones... just like it.
9 - I'll Tell You Now... makes me think of looking outside at the rain.
10 - That's How We Do It In LA... crazy in a good way.
11 - Love From Here, Love From There... beach party!

You see, I have a weird twisted mind! Song association... it should be a game.

If the only rock & roll album I listen to for the rest of my life is "Law & Order," I'd get along just fine. In fact, I could basically dump the entire Fleetwood Mac catalog & all its satellites in favor of "Law & Order."

I think "Law & Order," particularly "Bwana," is just about the best work he's ever composed. What else has this kind of goofy charm? There's nothing else like it.

Buckingham's music used to be so unconventional & odd, but music has got so truly odd -- it has drifted so far afield from the old styles & old conventions -- that his work can't really be said to be uncommercial any more.

I can't really rate each track, but my favorites are "Bwana," "It Was I," "A Satisfied Mind," "I'll Tell You Know" & "That's How We Do It in L.A."

I love Law and Order. It's really grown on me over the years.

Law & Order is probably my favorite Lindsey album because of its variety that shows his incredible range.

I also like the exuberance and energy and passion - it just sounds like he's having a great time. I never get tired of this album.

Completely unique kind of record. The spirit of it is so sweet and naive and goofy and startlingly innocent.

I actually can't rate this one too well -- my favorites are probably I'll Tell You Now, Mary Lee Jones, Shadow of the West, Johnny Stew, Bwana and all the rest...hehe.

I love the send off track being Satisfied Mind. It's kind of a poignant way to end it.

3) Bwana (sounds like a Tusk leftover...but a GOOD leftover)
4) Mary Lee Jones (ditto)
5) Johnny Stew (I'm a sucker for heavy guitar riffs)
6) That's How We Do It In L.A. (quirky to the max)
7) tie: Satisfied Mind & September Song (great covers)

the rest of the album, I don't care for.

I think this is his best album song for song. Some of the things on OOTC don't do it for me.
Trouble is the best song in my mind. How can anyone not like a song like that? Great rhythm (mick on drums, and, I believe, George Hawkins played bass on that one), terrific lead and backing vocal, and two great acoustic solos. The rest of the album is great. I particulary enjoy Shadows of the West, Bwana, I'll tell you now, Thats how we do it in LA. The only song that doesn't really make it is September song, it just stumbles- but 10 out of 11 ain't bad!

Ok, the scoop...

...my boss is as heavily into surf music as I am into Fleetwood Mac (maybe even MORE!)

He comes into work this morning with his latest "weekend CD shopping spree find" to let me listen to..."Anywhere The Girls Are" by The Fantastic Baggys---the name of the phantom band that was only songwriters Phil Sloan & Steve Barri, who wrote mainly for Jan & Dean, "Summer Means Fun", "Horace The Swinging School Bus Driver", "Tell Em I'm Surfin'", etc. This is a compilation of their own versions of their songs (backed mainly by the "Wrecking Crew", the LA session players who did most of the Beach Boys studio recordings from 1966-1969).


Now the purpose of this post...


What do I find on track 14??? Gary Paxton's "It Was I".

1, 2 and 3 were really a hard choice. All the tracks are good though

Incidently I managed to download a good copy of the Trouble video, does anyone know who all the musicains are that appear.
I find it weird the Mick Fleetwood and Bob Weston are in the same video after their history.
I think Dennis Dunston and Walter Egam appaer, not sure of anyone else, any ideas??????????

I think Bob Aguirre(the last Penguin Q & A subject) is one of the drummers in the Trouble video. I also think it's strange that Mick and Bob Weston would appear together in this video.

I don't find it any more or less strange to see Mick & Bob Weston together as it would be for Mick & Lindsey to be in the same band together. Had they had the same "stick-to-it-iveness" in 1973, as they seemed to bear through with in 1976/77, there may not have been the need to break up the Mystery To Me lineup. They obviously went through similar situations once Lindsey & Stevie joined, but they didn't pack up & cancel the tour then.

I think you're right about Ray Lindsey, but I don't believe Lindsey knew Neale Heywood yet. Neale was a young lad of only 20 or 21 and still in London in 1981 when Law & Order was released.
