Tango Sessions

I have been listening to the alternative/demo disc from the Tango box set and a boot I have from the Tango sessions on the headphones. Special Kind of Love and Down on Endless Street and Ricky have some amazing Buckingham McVie vocals (not to mention the Mystified demos) It’s so obvious how much quality recording time the two of them spent together before Stevie arrived. I hope Lindsey has some Christine “leftovers vocals” for his next record.

Apparently, there is an additional Christine song that she had “high hopes for” that Lindsey left off BuckVie. (As producer, he decided to present ten songs, five from each. If she had six, he’d have had to have six.) When she alluded to this unnamed song in one of their joint interviews, he said something like “for the next record.”

Not sure how far along this song got in production, but it’d be fantastic if we could hear it.

Yes, I remember that interview. We can only hope he uses the leftovers . I do see Lindsey making it work with his next album. He loved working with Christine.

If we are talking about leftovers where both L&C are singing, yes it would make sense and would be nice to be included in Lindsey next record (though maybe it wouldn'd be named a solo album, depending in how many songs).

But if we are talking about Christine songs where it just her singing, wouldn't be great if they were included in a Christine McVie posthumous album, with other unreleased songs? Final productions based in Chris demos or unrealeasd pieces? If I could choose, I'd ask for that Christine album.

I get the sense that her “Songbird” release had her only unreleased pieces.

That would be the sweetest gesture to include one of her songs on his solo album.

I remember Christine mentioning that one in an interview. Others will disagree, but I hope this song finds its way to us as a final Mac song, with Stevie persuaded to do some backing vocals, at arms-length, if necessary.

I've been thinking about this as a suitable ending since the Beatles' Now and Then was released. I had a tear or two in my eye for that; it would be buckets for a final Chris-led Mac song.

I wouldn't be opposed to all 3 singers on the same last McVie song. Hopefully, it would be refreshing. Considering Stevie's nasal voice, I hope it wouldn't ruin it. I did like she and Christine on Neil's song.

I really did enjoy the BuckVie stuff from the Tango sessions. I can hear so much of her on the demos and BuckVie co-writes etc.

I liked the Neil song also. I wish it made it to a “hard copy”. Its probably just Stevie’s voice that needs to be added to the song to make it an official Fleetwood Mac tune. They will slap it on yet another “best of” collection.😕
