Round 1 Nominations: Madison Blues
Here's the next poll in "The Definitive Christine McVie Collection" contest. Remember to vote for Christine's best songs, not necessarily your favorite. Multiple choice - vote for as many as you wish. Songs must get at least 50% of the vote to move forward in the contest. If no songs meet that standard, then none of the songs will be eligible.
Links to Hey Baby and It's You I Miss. I couldn't find the others on youtube. Hey Baby http://youtu.be/-fXCWxQpXw4 It's You I Miss http://youtu.be/SKc6lVpCXCk |
Thanks for doing this!! I love it. :)

Of course I didn't see your list of songs to begin with, otherwise I would have encouraged you to include the live-in studio version of Crazy Bout You Baby here. It's Christine's first studio lead vocal with Mac backing her. On it, she and they sound terrific!

Thank you both for your efforts cause I need it! It will be both fun and painful getting all of Christine's songs down to the definitive 18. |

Regarding your poll, my vote goes to "Tell me you need me" and "It's you I miss" :)
It's a pity the Chicken Shack poll is closed, I would have voted for "When the train comes back" and "Get like you used to be"! |
I love the song "Gone Into the Sun." It sounds a lot more like the later Christine and not much like the piano-totin' blueswoman she aspired to be in those days. It's a lovely ballad, and I think it's about her sadness when her new love (John McVie) took off on a tour leaving her at home.
BTW, I love the piano-totin' blueswoman version of Chris. |
I love HEY Baby... what a great solo!

Poll Update/Reminder
Songs must get at least 50% of the vote to continue in the contest. Poll closes tomorrow night, still got time to decide!
I would vote, but I don't have access to the last 3 songs and I need more than a 30 sec preview to decide. |
With exactly 50% of the votes, "Gone Into the Sun "barely sneaks in and continues in the contest. All others are out of the contest.
