Most Essential Filmed Performances

So the documentary thread oppinions, comments were interesting and got me thinking, what do you think is the best Mac performance captured on film? Official releases, television specials, bootlegs? What performance do you go to in your head when you think Fleetwood Mac?
Could be an entire show, one song, etc..
Sara from the Tusk doc has always made a big impact on me. The singing, guitar playing.. there's a lot of raw emotion in that performance.. even if some of that rawness is studio manipulated:laugh:

When I was first discovering Fleetwood Mac yearsssss ago, I always thought of that pretty blonde lady singing Landslide on The Dance.

However with time and tons of bootlegs later, it's Rhiannon from Midnight Special. I am amazed. Every time. :)

I always think of Fleetwood Mac as that one guy who wears flowy kimono shirts, that girl who looks like she's going to Catholic mass, that other girl who's going to a Halloween party, that guy who's going to the beach, and that other guy who's going to the Renaissance. (Or whatever that quote is that Stevie said on Rosebud hahaha)

I don't know what raw emotion is, but my quintessential Fleetwood Mac clips include "Tusk" at the US Festival, "Oh Daddy" from Landover 1978, "Spare Me a Little" from Don Kirshner, & "Over My Head" from Rosebud.

Well, the two "Rhiannon"s that I love are Midnight Special and Rosebud:

"Angel" from the Tusk Doc:

"Tusk" at the Dodgers stadium:

"Sisters of the Moon" from the Mirage DVD:

"Beautiful Child" on Live In Boston:

And "Big Love" from the Dance, which is not on YouTube. I will probably think of more later.

I enjoy the Rosebud and Tusk docs, the 1977 Japan tour and backstage footage (not sure if it actually has a title), and the Mirage concert with the crazy SOTM. There's another filmed concert from 1976, I think, filmed in Largo (once again, I think), but I've never seen that.

I want that!

Ooooh Moz, I agree! I loveeeeeeeeee the Japanese Rumours footage. :D

Oh, and Largo is all over Youtube, just search 'Fleetwood Mac Largo 1975' (Assuming that this is the Largo you were thinking of!)

Rhiannon

Blue Letter

I think SOTM from the Mirage video is the most essential filmed performance.
If Fleetwood Mac would have had a few more rockers like that, they would
be looked at as a totally different band now.

Second, I would say Silver Springs from the Dance video. Staged or not,
that girl is singing it out to Mr. Buckingham in that performance.

Oh, I've seen this-- I just always forget what show it is, so I feel like an idiot everytime someone mentions Largo and I am initially confused.

Mick's weird hat = Largo 1975. Got it.

Definitely.

Ironically I think they are at their musical best from The Dance onwards.

SS ~ The Dance

Rhiannon ~ Midnight Special

Nobody has mentioned What Makes You Think You're the One from 1980 in Tucson -- I guess because nobody has seen a film of it.

daniellaaarisen 08-16-2009 01:59 PM

I feel terrible for forgetting "Gold Dust Woman" in Japan 1977 and "The Chain" from Mirage! Two of my favorite clips ever.
