I only hope I can afford to go when they do show up! ;)

That bodes well for Australia. Start saving, kids!

Looks like Australia will get a visit of FM sooner as i thought. 29 december is a strange date. Why not wait until January or perhaps FM is celebrating the new year in Australia....... Anyway i'm happy for the fans over there:wavey:

Tickets in Europe are at normal prices demon... The highest price of a ticket in belgium is 76 Euro and in Holland is 65 Euro. That is normal for a band of that status and name...... How much were the tickets the last time FM was in Australia............

Oh I have no idea. I've only seen them when I was living in America. $120+ for a ticket.

I thought that too. It actually doesn't seem like an ideal time at all to be getting people to spend-up and attend a concert (though I still would, of course). I'm confident they will be playing Aus and NZ, but maybe those dates will be off.

Not that I had actually discovered the awesomeness of FM in 2004, but reviews indicate up to $200 a ticket. That's what I paid for 4th row at The Who just 6 months ago though, so perhaps we'll see FM prices a bit higher this time around. If not, total bonus.

Well that's nice of ye!

Prolly won't go cause... they won't play in Wellington for sure. So it'll be the cost of the two tickets plus a trip to wherever they will be (If it's not Auckland I'll be shocked).

Fleetwood Mac mystery show

British-American band Fleetwood Mac are to perform in New Zealand.

Ticket agency Ticketmaster is advertising on its website that the band will perform one show in New Zealand, but without listing the city or date.

It has asked people to supply their email addresses so they can be contacted when the city and date are confirmed.

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks performed at the TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth in 2006 and there is speculation that the band will perform there.

New Plymouth District Council's manager for business developments and events, Garry Sharpe-Young, declined to comment on whether it would be Bowl of Brooklands.

But he said he understood an announcement would be made soon.

"Some acts are perfectly suited to certain types of venues and I'm a great believer that we've got the iconic New Zealand venue. We'll wait and see."

I am reliably informed that date is wrong. I think it is December the 19th, not the 29th.
It is an incredible venue. I saw Jack Johnson and REM there. Stage in front of the water. I agree with above, perfect atmosphere for Fleetwood Mac!!

StreetAngel86 08-08-2009 01:49 AM

so they're touring NZ before Oz?
that doesn't make sense

if FM are in NZ mid Dec.....then that means they would do Oz in late Oct/Nov no?

dammit.......why am i going to mexico
i want them to be in Oz in the new yearrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Excalibur881 08-08-2009 03:14 AM

I would think Australia must be fore New Zealand because other wise they will be hitting Christmas and New Year in between. If it is New Plymouth, I'm stoked! Quite a travel (but so is Auckland) but well worth it.

An amazing Christmas present!!!

The dance 08-08-2009 04:17 AM

Well, i think more tourdates for New Zealand and Austrailia will soon follow........... How many gigs will they do over there? Here in Europe it was a bit of surprise because FM will give concerts in Holland, Belgium, France, Sweden and they have not been there for many many years..........

oooh, I can see a nice wee road trip happening...how exciting!! whats more if they go to NZ in summer, they'd do well to stay a few days extra and enjoy a quiet break..... away from it all.
