Boy George covers GYOW

and it is horrid

I wonder if LB sold this D lister the rights to record it

Hopefully, BG just paid to sing it one time in concert.

Also, is this new, or did I totally miss this in 06.

strandinthewind 08-06-2007 09:11 AM

Actually, if you search "go your own way" on youtube - many have covered it.

here is a MUCH better cover by Leann Rimes

I laughed my head off when I saw that highqualitysongrape for the first time a few months ago. It's hilariously bad.

I like Boy George, but no. This is a bad idea.

Madness Fades 08-06-2007 02:00 PM

NO NO NO,

Delete this video from youtube whoever owns it. then shoot yourself for attending the concert in the first place.
It so so bad. GYOW is my favourite song of all time ever. Boy George has just embarrased himself and his band with that effort.

I hope that I have fully made my point and everyone is crystal clear about my opinion because I am never ever coming back to this thread in case I accidentaly clicked on that Blasphemus youtube link again.

I'm away to wash out my ears.

Anyway on a more friendly note. Fair play to Leann Rimes, she stuck fairly close to the way its supposed to sound. Oh and Damn those hot pants kicked ass. If she wants to she can cover the whole rumours album as long as she wears that.

 At several points in time, Boy George has been way hotter than Leann Rimes could ever hope to be.

I'm still on the fence as to whether Boy's cover or Wilson Phillips cover was worse. The WP cover was barftastic in its own right.

Totally barftastic. It's offensive actually. Thought I'd share and refresh everyone's memory with the horror that is WP.

Wow, that was painful. Boy George stopped being talented and interesting a very long time ago. I used to adore him.

priestofnothing 08-06-2007 04:50 PM

I wasn't a witness, but I believe Boy George also performed GYOW once at Night of a Thousand Stevies a few years ago. I don't remember which year exactly, but I want to say it was semi-recently.

Owww.... owww... *moans in pain for several days, hands over ears*

Tee Dee 08-08-2007 08:43 AM

Yeah, I vote for LeeAnn and her hot pants.

The other two are real stinkers.....like a full porta potty at the fair/parade.
